Thrive Credit Union Brings Christmas Cheer to the Delaware County Community in Big Ways this Year
Muncie, Ind. – One of the main values that the employees of Thrive Credit Union live by is “community.” This holiday season, Thrive made it their mission to give back to the Delaware County community by adopting two local families for Christmas, surprising local organizations with Santa Claus and organizing a new event at the credit union, Santa’s Thriven’ Saturday.
Thrive Credit Union partnered with Kidspeace Foster Care to provide Christmas to two local foster families. Families provided their wish lists and the credit union fulfilled them through member and employee donations. The credit union has been adopting families at Christmas for over 40 years and the opportunity to help make the season brighter for local children is something everyone at the credit union looks forward to every year. “Our Christmas Families adoption program is something we enjoy doing and our employees and members get excited for the opportunity to help local families in need every year. While we make it our mission to help others thrive throughout the year, we feel that Christmas is a time to make sure these special families receive a Christmas they will never forget,” said Brett Rinker, President/CEO of Thrive Credit Union.
Thrive was also able to bring holiday cheer to several organizations in Delaware County with a surprise visit from Santa Claus. Thrive’s supervisory committee chairman, Gary Niccum, assumes the look of Santa every year at Christmas, complete with a red suit, black boots and a natural Santa beard. Along with Thrive’s Director of Marketing, “Santa” visited over 20 local organizations to deliver cookies, candy canes and wish everyone a Merry Christmas from Thrive Credit Union. “When you think of Santa Claus coming to town, you automatically think of the excitement on the faces of little children. However, I think the excitement we saw in the adults made me realize that Santa can bring happiness to anyone at any age and that is what Thrive is all about,” said Brittani Richards, Director of Marketing at Thrive. “We had a great time visiting a variety of local organizations and putting smiles on people’s faces all while educating our community about the benefits of Thrive.”
Thrive also launched a brand new event into the community, “Santa’s Thriven’ Saturday.” Thrive held the event at their new location on the northwest side of Muncie. During the event, Thrive offered free photos with Santa, ornament making, snacks and new account opening incentives. Every member that visited the new location also received a present to unwrap with a variety of over 200 gifts, including a grand prize of $500 and a $100 donation to the charity of their choice. The event was a success with an attendance of over 300 members and community friends.
