Ball State Federal Credit Union, Industrial Centre Federal Credit Union, and PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union joined together in May and June to raise money for American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Delaware County.
Each Credit Union held events to raise money individually, yet each Credit Union promoted the others’ events and made purchases at their events. Together, the three credit unions rose over $11,500 for the fight against cancer. The American Cancer Society can use that money to offer free lodging for more than 40,000 patients in 31 locations or to help answer the 1 million questions received by their Cancer Information Specialist.
Every employee at each Credit Union wore a t-shirt with a “Credit Unions United for a Cause” logo and each Credit Union’s logo on the back of the t-shirt. The night of Relay, employees wore their t-shirts to show unity among the local credit unions. Each Credit Union also sold souvenir cups with $1.00 refills available at each Credit Union’s campsite the night of Relay.
“We wanted to show the community the Credit Union difference, that we are a co-op and we work together for a better Delaware County,” said Carol Bradshaw, Marketing Director for PrimeTrust FCU.
The Credit Unions hope to work together again this fall on another community project.
Renae Aeschliman from the American Cancer Society accepts a check for $11,500 from Michelle Reynolds, Ball State Federal Credit Union; Liz Donovan, PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union; and Brittani Richards, Industrial Centre Federal Credit Union the Team Captains for each credit union’s Relay for Life Team. The three credit unions joined together in May and June as “Credit Unions United for a Cause” to raise money for the fight against cancer.
